1 Vanilla Bean, Split & Scraped (15 min)
1/2 gallon Starter Nottingham Ale Yeast
- Brewed 31 Oct-1 Nov 2008.  OG: 1.086; 68% efficiency.
- Racked 23 November.

- Strike with 20 qts 175F water.  Hold ~153F; allow to steep overnight (8 hours).
- Sparge to 7.5 gallons.
- Boil 1 hour, hopping & spicing as indicated.
- Chill wort, pitch yeast.
- Ferment out, rack until clear, age ~1 year.
